Description: Join us in the grounds of the prestigious Somerley House this September as our flagship event, Walk for Wards, returns for 2021!
We are excited to announce the return of Walk for Wards, marking our first ever ‘in person’ event as University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity. Building on the success of previous years, we hope to make this an event not to be missed!
This year, our family friendly event will take on a festival feel as our communities come together to celebrate our local NHS.
Join us at the exclusive private estate of Somerley House and see this historic building in all its stately beauty as you walk a route of either 3km, 5km or 10km set within its stunning grounds.
Whether you’d like to experience the great outdoors with a short family stroll or embark a long walk with friends, Walk for Wards guarantees a fun-filled day, making wonderful memories, all in aid of supporting the Royal Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch Hospitals.
The picturesque 7,000 acre country estate serves as a stunning backdrop to the day and will be open exclusively for event attendees as they take on their charity walk and enjoy family friendly entertainment, stalls, food and live music!
Entry is just £10 for adults. Children under 16 can take part for free.
In previous years, Walk for Wards participants successfully raised an average sponsorship of £44 per person, why not see if you can do even better this year and continue to support your local hospitals!
Walk for Wards is your opportunity to do something amazing for a ward or department close to your heart.
We want all participants to support us in the way they’d like to - if you have a chosen hospital, department or ward you’d like to support then we welcome you to do so.
Whether you have a loved one undergoing treatment, a personal experience of receiving care at our hospitals, or want to show support for our NHS heroes who have gone over and above to deliver exceptional care, particularly after this very challenging 19 months – what better way to say thank you and show your love for our hospitals.
