End Date: 11/10/2019 22:30
Location: Lighthouse, Poole
Booking Essential: Yes
Description: Firmly positioned as a leading exponent of his instrument, “The hottest guitarist in the world” (Sunday Times), Miloš Karadaglic, continues to top record charts and delight audiences worldwide. This concert is a journey through music and time. It uses the classical guitar and its unique voice as a vehicle, showcasing full range of colours and influences, through the works and musicians that defined it.
Whilst the names of some of the composers in this programme may be unfamiliar, the music itself will often be much better known. More familiar composers will reflect Miloš’s classical training at the Royal Academy of Music, whilst other pieces will showcase the link to his early training in Montenegro and his interest in the guitar as an instrument that is an intrinsic part of the Mediterranean environment he grew up in.
“No other guitarist can match his graceful blend of personal charisma and technical finesse.” (The Independent)
In those early days, Andrés Segovia was a particular influence on Miloš and the latter part of the programme demonstrates his subsequent devotion to the music of Latin America and the expansion of the technical and expressive qualities of the instrument. Concluding the programme, Miloš showcases his latest project with the music of the Beatles.
