Description: The connection between ancient astronomers and ancient monuments used to be a fringe idea. But modern discoveries such as at Stonehenge and of advanced astronomical tools in ancient shipwrecks is causing archaeology to have second thoughts. Peter Knight has used 21stC technology to make extraordinary discoveries. He will discuss how our iconic hill figure, situated as it is at its dramatic site, resonates with ancient myths and legends. Peter lives in Wiltshire and is the author of eight books on ancient and sacred sites around the world. He is well-known for his talks, workshops and field trips which allow people to connect in new ways with the special sites they visit. £6.50 incl a glass of wine or soft drink.
