Description: Tickets are on now sale at the Tourist Information Centre for Bridport Pantomime Players forthcoming production Robin Hood. This years show runs from Weds 6 – Sat 9 February. Performances are at 7.30pm each evening. Matinees are 1.30pm, Thurs 7 Feb and 2pm, Sat 9 Feb. Everyone knows about the adventures of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, their vow to overcome the evil Sheriff of Nottingham, by robbing the rich and giving to the poor. This well known and much loved story which is a favourite with young and old alike, is brought to the stage by Teresa Grinter, who wrote the script, and Amy Carlile the director. The Sheriff is villainously played by Ross Hughes, and his two side-kicks Gerald and Norman, not the sharpest of arrows in the quiver, are Kirsty Ellison and Emily Halsey. Amy Day is our dashing hero Robin Hood, with Hatti Amos in the romantic role of Maid Marian, the love of his life. Little John and Will Scarlet, two of his Merry Men, are ably portrayed by Johanna Leins and Alice Tuck, whilst by way of a change, there is a singing Dottie A Dale (instead of an Alan) played by Jess Gladstone. Greg Horton, the absent-minded Dame, makes a comely Nurse Florence, long time companion to Marian, whilst the very amiable Friar Tuck is roundly undertaken by Teresa Grinter. Telling the story throughout and keeping an eye on the proceedings is Amy Wheatley as the magical Enchantress, and last but certainly not least there is Barry Irvine as good King Richard, back from the Crusades and ready to put the Sheriff well and truly in his place! To lift the gloom of winter, come along to the Electric Palace where you can boo and hiss the baddies, cheer and support the goodies and remember how much you used to enjoy pantomimes and the fun you had when you were a youngster – oh yes you did………!
