Robbie McIntosh is known as a guitar playing sideman, session player and band member with The Pretenders, Paul McCartney, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Tom Jones, Dire Straits and has done studio work with many other artists including Talk Talk, Tears For Fears, Roger Daltrey, Paul Young, Mike and the Mechanics, Paul Carrack and Joe Cocker to name just a few.
This accomplished slide guitarist, hard hitting blues and country player and fine finger picker has also achieved much critical acclaim for his work as a singer songwriter with sessions for Bob Harris on Radio 2 and great reviews in publications such as Q Magazine and Mojo.
He returns to The Tivoli Theatre, one his favourite venues in Dorset, with his full band, Peter Hope Evans-harmonica, Stephen Darrell Smith- keyboards, Jody Linscott-percussion, Steve Wilson- bass guitar and Russ Parker-drums, playing new songs and old favourites from previous albums “Emotional Bends”, “Wide Screen” and “Turn Up For The Books”.
The set will also include a selection of instrumentals from his most recent release “Thanks Chet” which is a tribute to the late, great Chet Atkins who was an early influence.
With support from the wonderful singer songwriter Hannah Robinson this is an evening of great music not to be missed.
